Mecca: yet another new browser, but with iPhone-ish sidebars October 7, 2008

Ajaxian » Mecca: A new social browser

A clever bit: Mecca includes sidebars where you can load different websites or more likely apps independently from your main view window. Think twitter, friendfeed, etc (how you get any actual work done then is your own problem).

But there’s not much screen real estate available for those sidebars unless you’ve got a gigantic monitor. The solution Mecca has come up with is ingenious: it’s to load iPhone-optimised sites into the sidebar. Nice! I wonder if you could use a similar approach to get ready-made widgets for a dashboard/portal app?
